Dr. Debomita Ghosh received her B.Tech. degree from BCREC, Durgapur in Electrical Engineering in 2006, M.E degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems), and Ph.D. in Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology Mesra, Ranchi, India, in 2008 and 2014, respectively. Currently, she is Assistant Professor in the Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department at BIT, Mesra, Ranchi, India. She joined the Institute in July 2008 and has 16 years’ experience in teaching and research. She has around 70 publications in international transaction, journals, national and international conferences, book chapters, books. Listing a few impactful publications being in Nature; IEEE Industrial Informatics; IEEE Systems Journal; IEEE Sensors journal; IEEE Protection and control of modern power systems; IEEE Access; Reliability engineering and system safety, Elsevier; IJEPES, Elsevier; EPCS, Taylor and Francis; etc. She has received several research grants for R&D projects from external funding bodies such as Coal India Limited, GoI; Eastern Regional Load Despatch Centre, Grid Controller of India Limited, Ministry of Power, GoI; Typhoon HIL, Switzerland and has also completed several in-house projects. She is currently having 2 granted international patents and 1 published national patent. She has supervised 4 PhD scholars, around 30 M.E./ M.Tech scholars and around 50 groups of B.E/ B.Tech students. 2 of her M.Tech scholars received Prestigious National Level Power System Awards (PPSA)- in the year 2020 and 2024 respectively for their M.Tech dissertation.  She has organized several workshops and international conferences, chaired sessions in international conferences, invited as speaker in international conferences and workshops funded by DST, AICTE. She is reviewer of several journals of repute, member of IEEE and life-time member of ISTE. Her current research activities are concentrated on Power System Reliability, Smart Grid, System Integrity Protection, Wide Area Monitoring System, Energy Management System, Application of Artificial Intelligence techniques in Power Systems
