My research interest includes the theoretical analysis and numerical simulation of the electrokinetic motion of charged nanoparticles. Our investigations deal with the electrophoretic and diffusiophoretic motion of rigid, fully porous, and soft particles in different electrokinetic situations. Electrophoresis as well as diffusiophoresis of bio-colloids have a vast application in the field of nano- and microfluidics. Our research made a significant contribution to analyzing the impact of surface hydrophobicity on electrophoresis and diffusiophoresis of charged bio-colloids. The current focus of the study is to develop mathematical expressions for diffusiophoretic mobility of fully porous and soft particles incorporating various electrokinetic phenomena such as the ion partitioning effect and ion steric effect.
