The Department of Management was founded in 1979 with the objective of imparting comprehensive management education to young aspirants with special emphasis on nurturing personal integrity and social responsibility. The Department has a substantial infrastructure base comprising well-equipped library and computer labs, seminar and conference rooms. It boasts of a highly qualified and experienced core faculty besides drawing on additional strength from the different departments of BIT Mesra. 

The department has been accredited by National Board of Accreditation and was given 'B' grade.


Programmes

The MBA curriculum has been carefully designed to balance theoretical knowledge with practical understanding. The two-year full-time Programme consists of forty-two papers spread over six trimesters.


Course Structure
 

• The first trimester - core courses cover areas of General Management and present an overview of the specialization papers.
• In the fourth and fifth trimesters, dual specialization courses are offered.
• In the sixth trimester, along with core courses students opt for sectoral specialization. (this includes one project each in the functional area of specialization and in their sectoral specialization).
• The students also undergo a two-month intensive on job training in industries to give them the required exposure to real life work environment.
• Students are also trained in one foreign language other than English to provide them an edge during placement in corporate world.
